You have a few “words” – Mama, Dada “RaRa” for K – and you make your opinions known. You are especially good at letting us know when you don’t want or like something as you will vigorously shake your head or scream.
You don’t like to nap, except in the carrier or the stroller. (Much like your sister!) Honestly, I have not been trying to put you down in your crib; it is easier to just put you in the stroller for a walk or carrier while I am doing chores.
You love to play, but are also very serious at times, especially when meeting new people or exploring things. Your favorite game is peek-a-boo! And you love to be outside. Now that it is warming up, we are going outside more. You play on the deck with K (mainly digging in the containers), walk and climb on the playground, and often fall asleep in the stroller during our walks.
You love to eat, although you often take a really long time. Favorites include chicken, salmon, and broccoli. You frequently have fruit and veggie pouches, which you can now hold and eat yourself. You still breastfeed, mostly at night and sometimes during the day (this is a very big deal for me since I year was my goal, which I did not reach with K). You also have some bottles during the night, some with formula, some with goat’s milk. You technically don’t need to be fed at night anymore, and we will try to wean you off the bottle, but I think the feeding (especially breastfeeding) is mainly for comfort. You definitely feed more during the night when your teeth are bothering you. Feeding you is the easiest way for us to both get back to sleep!
It seems like you have been continuously teething for a couple of months – you currently have two bottom and four on top (top next to middle just cut through).
I forgot to write these down when we were at your checkup! I think it was 24 lbs,and 29.5 inches long. You are wearing clothes in sizes 12 months, 18 months and a few 24 month pieces (though they are a bit big). Size 4 disposable diapers and the same one-size cloth diapers (which I keep meaning to do a post on…)
For your birthday, we had a small celebration – just the four of us. I made you a carrot cake with cream cheese frosting, which you really seemed to enjoy!
I am looking forward to many more years of watching you grow and learn!
